Project Summary

OCIF Baghdad lead by KAPITA, aims to strengthen the startups and SMEs in Iraq, who are graduated from Orange Corners Baghdad Incubation Programs specifically in Baghdad, by providing integrated financial and business development support to early-stage startups through the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF). Over a 4-years period (Jan 2022 – Dec 2025), the project will support 100 startups through business coaching and pre-financing (Track I), and provide follow-on investment and post-finance support to 24 selected ventures (Track II). The initiative addresses critical challenges faced by Iraqi entrepreneurs, including limited access to finance, weak business capacity, and lack of market connections. The project seeks to stimulate sustainable job creation, economic inclusion, and entrepreneurial culture in Iraq, with a strong emphasis on gender equity and youth empowerment. The €1.39 million grant will be used to deliver technical assistance, seed financing, and portfolio management, with loan repayments reinvested to support additional startups.

Activities & Interventions

Track 1: During the participation in OC Incubation program, the startups recived One-One Choaching, Business development, Technical Assistance, and in-kind support up to 2400 Euro. Track 2: All oc Incubation program graduates from all the previews cohorts are elligable to apply, shortlisted busiensss involve in busines plan development workshop, Financial Modeling Workshop, Buikding Pitch Deck Workshop, and Dry Pitch Practicies, 6 winnres would be selected to recive Zero-Equity Investment equals to 27500 Euro (13750 Loan, and 13750 Grant), also Receving tailored technical support, buisness development and coaching.

Eligibility Criteria

OCIF Track 1: - Being Accepted in Orange Corners Baghdad Incubation Program. - A viable and sustainable business model. - Impact potential (job creation, economic value, etc.). - Local ownership and leadership. OCIF Track 2: - Orange Corners Baghdad Graduates. - Submit a 6 months Implantation Business plan. - Submit a Financial records. - Submit a pitch Deck. - Committed to register the business. - Submit the Company Accounting Manual.

Trainings Provided

Track 1: Business Development, Investment Awareness, Pitching for Investors. Track 2: One - One Business Plan Development, One- One Financial Modeling, One-One Building Pitch Deck, Dry Pitch and Pitching Skills.
